Introduction

Finding a sofa that looks pristine while withstanding daily pet traffic is a challenge many renters face. When writer Cullen Ormond was offered the chance to test Ashley's new Whitehaven modular sectional, she saw an opportunity to finally solve the dilemma of owning a light-colored couch in a compact NYC apartment shared with two Chihuahuas and a rabbit.

What Happened

The Ashley Luxe Whitehaven 2-Piece Modular Sectional comes from the brand's 2026 Luxe line, which focuses on premium materials at accessible price points. Available in oyster and sable, the sofa measures 94 inches wide, 44 inches deep, and 38 inches high, weighing 218 pounds. Ormond selected the sable shade, an olive-gray tone that immediately elevated the space. The modular, two-piece design proved essential when navigating the building's narrow tenement doorways, and the included white glove delivery service ensured a smooth setup. The package includes four polyester-cushion pillows and a 100% polyester cushion base, designed to feel soft yet supportive.

Why This Matters

Beyond good looks, the Whitehaven sectional checks practical boxes for pet owners. The sable velvet resists showing pet hair, a major win for a household with two Chihuahuas and a Holland Lop rabbit; a quick vacuum or lint roller keeps it looking fresh. The modular pieces dismantled easily for the move-in, and the sofa's comfort level earned a nightly spot for Ormond's husband, who often dozes off while reading or watching TV. Priced at $1,798, the piece offers a luxury feel without the designer markup, making it a compelling option for style-conscious renters.

Key Takeaways

  • Sable olive-gray velvet hides pet hair and stays cool in warm weather.
  • Modular, two-piece design simplifies delivery into tight city apartments.
  • Included pillows and cushions strike a balance of softness and support.
  • $1,798 price point undercuts many designer equivalents.
  • White glove delivery and easy assembly make the ownership experience hassle-free.

Conclusion

The Ashley Luxe Whitehaven 2-Piece Modular Sectional proves that a stylish, light-colored sofa can work in a pet-filled home when the right color and design choices are made. Its combination of pet-friendly aesthetics, modular practicality, and accessible luxury makes it a standout option for anyone looking to upgrade a living room without sacrificing comfort or convenience.
