Netflix is set to debut a new country-music thriller this fall, and the excitement already surrounds its all-star soundtrack. Headlined by Jessica Chastain, Jennifer Nettles, and Carter Faith, the Heartland soundtrack blends original songs with narrative, offering a glimpse into the film's emotional core even before the story unfolds.

What Happened

The official track list for Heartland has been revealed, featuring performances by the film's leading trio alongside established Nashville names. In addition to Chastain, Nettles, and Faith, the soundtrack includes songs by Margo Price (with actor John Hawkes), Carly Pearce, Channing Wilson, and David Ferguson. The title track, performed by Chastain and Nettles, was originally written and recorded by Hailey Whitters and is available now. The film follows a former country star, played by Chastain, who returns to Nashville when her niece, played by Faith in her first on-screen acting role, disappears mysteriously.

Why This Matters

Heartland marks a notable moment for country music on streaming platforms, merging narrative storytelling with a curated soundtrack of contemporary Nashville talent. For Chastain, the role continues her pattern of immersive musical portrayals, following her 2022 turn as Tammy Wynette in the Showtime series George & Tammy. Faith's involvement also highlights her transition from singer to screen, making the project a crossover moment for both artists and the genre.
